Arabic-language reference guide to end-of-service gratuity and arbitrary dismissal in Qatar under Labour Law No. 14 of 2004 (Arts. 54, 61, 62) and Decree-Law No. 18 of 2020 (Art. 49). General legal information, not legal advice — verify with Qatari counsel or the Ministry of Labour (16008).
Qatar's statutory end-of-service gratuity (Art. 54) is a minimum of three weeks' pay per year for any worker with one or more years of service, calculated on the LAST BASIC wage and pro-rated — not the '21/30 days' figure often seen online, which is a contractual practice, not the legal floor. Notice (Art. 49, as amended in 2020) is one month in the first two years and two months after. Arbitrary dismissal (Art. 62) lets the court reinstate with back pay or award compensation, with no fixed cap.
