Arabic-language reference guide to company formation in Bahrain under the Commercial Companies Law (Decree 21/2001, as amended). General legal information, not legal advice — verify with Bahraini counsel or MOIC. Bahrain is one of the most open GCC regimes for foreign ownership.
Bahrain allows 100% foreign ownership in most sectors with no local partner (regulated sectors and a few restricted activities aside). The WLL minimum capital was abolished by Decree 28/2020 — capital must simply be sufficient for the company's objectives (the BHD 20,000 often quoted is legacy practice). Registration runs through MOIC's Sijilat portal, typically in about 1–3 weeks.
