Arabic-language reference guide to unfair dismissal (licenciement abusif) and severance in Morocco under the Labour Code (Law No. 65-99). General legal information, not legal advice — verify with Moroccan counsel. Key figures: severance from 6 months' service (Art. 53), abusive-dismissal damages of 1.5 months/year capped at 36 months (Art. 41).
Morocco's severance indemnity (Art. 53) accrues after six months' service on a sliding hours-per-year scale (96/144/192/240 hours by seniority band). Unfair dismissal (Art. 41) is compensated at 1.5 months' wage per year of service, capped at 36 months, on top of severance and notice. Disputes start with labour-inspector conciliation, then the social section of the first-instance court. The limitation to challenge a dismissal is 90 days (Art. 65).
